Instructions to make to make Chana Briyani

  1. Soak chana or chickpeas overnight. Pressure cook it for 15 whistles and keep it ready.
  2. Clean and soak basmati rice for 1/2hour.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Add pandan leaves, cinnamon, and cardamom.
  4. Add onion and let it turn transparent.
  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute well. Let the raw smell disappears.
  6. Add coriander leaves
  7. Add tomato and green chilies. Mix them well and let them cook for 2 minutes
  8. Add masalas and saute well.
  9. Add curd and mix for a minute.
  10. Add boiled chickpea or chana.
  11. Add water and salt. I have 1/4 cup boiled chana water and the remaining normal water. Let the water come to a boil.
  12. Add basmati rice and cook it for 3 whistles.
  13. Serve hot with raita !!.
