- 150 ml thick curd (little sour)
- to taste Salt
- 1 dash hing
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp dry ginger powder
- 1 tsp besan
- To fry bhindi you will need
- 6-8 fresh okra (bhindi) (chopped into long pieces)
- 1 tbsp oil
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- For tempering bhindi kadi you will need
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp panch phoron
- 5-6 cloves garlic (pounded)
- 2-3 dry red chilies
- as required Few curry leaves
- As Required Water to adjust consistency
- For making rice
- 1 cup rice (washed and soaked)
- 2.5 cups water
- to taste Salt
Steps to make to make Bhindi kadi and chawal
- In a blender jar, take curd, add water, salt, dry ginger powder, hing and besan.
Blend and keep aside. - Next wash okra and wipe it dry. Cut into pieces.
Next heat a kadhai with oil.
Put okra pieces, salt and turmeric powder. Mix. Cook till okra softens and looses it's rawness.
Keep aside. - Next in the kadhai, heat oil.
Splutter panch phoron, add pounded garlic, dry red chilies and curry leaves. Saute till garlic turns brownish. - Add turmeric powder. Mix.
Keep the flame very slow and add the blended curd mixture. Immediately put some normal water and adjust consistency.
Then allow it to boil. - Stir continuously.
- As it thickens and comes to boil, add the fried okra.
Switch the flame off.
Let the kadi settle down a bit then serve.
It is very easy to make... delicious to eat.

Boil water, add raw rice and salt into it and cook in medium heat till the grain have plumped up nicely.
